Deependra Singh

PhD student

Update - I have decided to join the mathematics department at University of Pennsylvania for my PhD.

I am currently enrolled as a computer science Ph.D. student at the University of Pennsylvania. Although my background was not in mathematics, recently I have become keenly interested in pursuing graduate work in pure mathematics. Another field that I find very fascinating is theory of computation.

Before I became fascinated with mathematics, I worked in the field of data-mining and computational biology. I spent a summer working in Biociphers lab at UPenn with Prof. Yoseph Barash. Prior to starting my graduate studies in 2017, I spent three years at Groupon where I worked on search relevance and recommendation systems. I consider myself very fortunate to have worked under the supervision of Dr. Rajesh Parekh and Dr. Vinay Deolalikar.

Before all this, I completed my undergraduate studies in computer science from IIT Delhi, India in 2014.
